Crowds: Fall traffic may not be as heavy as peak summer vacation season, but certain weekends (Rod Run, peak foliage, etc.) certainly fill up fast. That’s why we recommend a weekday visit for shorter waits at attractions and restaurants and less crowded GSMNP trailhead parking.
